Ceiling Fans When ON during your HVAC Units Cycle has been announced by several Utilities that it can save as much as 40% on your Heating & Cooling Bill.
Pre-wiring Ceiling Fans in conjunction with normal switching methods to your HVAC Thermostat will not remove any control away from the homeowner, but you do have the option in (all seasons and certainly during the coldest and/or warmest seasons) to turn on/off Ceiling Fans Automatically to help distribute AC & Heat better during a cycle. This will mean less run time of your more costly AC/Heater and you save.
If the Wall Switch (for Ceiling Fan(s)) is in the 'ON' Position already, the Fan(s) stay on when the HVAC Cycle is complete. Otherwise the Fan(s) are automatically switched On/Off with each cycle.
The extra costs involved start at $300.00 minimum for a pre-wire application, and $600.00 minimum for existing homes/businesses. Number of Fan circuits, Switches, Accessiblity, & Location of Controllers to Thermostats determine extra cost.
Available Where Codes Permit.
